The Westinghouse Contempra IV fan is part of Westinghouse's "Hugger" series of fans and is ideal for rooms with low ceilings because it hangs down from the ceiling less than ordinary fans do.

The Contempra IV provides powerful cooling and air with its 52-inch, five-blade design. The blades are reversible, with one side being oak and the other walnut, providing versatility in home decorating. Both sides coordinate handsomely with the fan's antique brass finish.

The fan includes a four-light lighting kit with the four globes resting below and at the center of the fan in a square pattern, providing welcome light when necessary. The globes are made of frosted ribbed glass.

52-inch fans are best suited for large rooms such as living rooms, dining rooms, great rooms, and large bedrooms. The fan is covered with a 25 year limited warranty.--Jeffrey Dalto

Great fan for the price!:

We replaced an aging fan in a living room and were very pleased with this fan. The fan blades had 2 colors - dark and light brown - and the dark brown suited us perfectly. When ordering, we were concerned that the candelabra lights would not provide enough light but we were so pleased with the results. Sure, it's not a high end fan but for the price, it is an excellent buy and we couldn't come close to this price at either Home Depot or Lowes.

never enough information:

Having purchased thousands of dollars of stuff from amazon, I am sorely disappointed in information given. My ceiling has a slight tilt and all of my experience with ceiling fans they have a way to adjust the fit but not this one. I also bought a kitchen dome lamp with a 13 watt bulb but the bulb is a specialty bulb and requires an expensive and difficult 3 prong plug. Both will go to my local thrift store. best deal around:

I needed 2 ceiling fans to replace 2 that died. I searched all over town looking for a 52" 5 blade fan w/light kit for under 50.00 couldn't find anything at Lowes, Home Depot anywhere. Found these on line 2 for 98.00 )including tax and shipping) they are installed now and work awesome!!

Good fan but uses none-standard light bulbs:

We bought this type of fans more than 2 years ago from OSH. We like the look, the cost and how it works (very quiet and stable, also flush mountable). you get the best bang of your money. A month ago, we bought another one from Amazon.com. In the product description it states using "standard-base light bulbs". After opening the package, we found that it uses candelabra based light bulbs. For this, we returned it to Amazon.com because we'd like to use more generic products for easy light bulb replacement.more info
