Ideal for woodworkers with Shop-Vacs or the equivalent, the Jet 4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Reducer allows you to step down from a larger size machine. The reducer connects 4-inch line to 2-1/2-inch dust ports. The step down increases air velocity where it is needed most. With an outer diameter of 2-1/2-by-4-inches, this reducer lets you adapt to many machines.

Easy way to make it work...:
I bought this to use with a Big Gulp Dust Hood. Turns out that the OD of the adapter and the Big Gulp were the same. However, the small end fits my Shop Vac perfectly. So instead of moaning and groaning about it, I simply cut a piece of sheet metal 14 3/16" x 2 3/4" and made a wide band clamp. Bend both ends 1" and 90 degrees for tabs. Drill 2 ea 1/4" holes for clamp screws and install to couple the two sections together. Bending the sheet metal to a nice round shape is easily done over a section of 3" PVC... more info

What can I say. It does the job it was intended for. Nice heavy plastic.
2 WEEKS:
PAID FOR 2 DAY SHIP TOOK OVER 2 WEEKS ITS BULL SHOT AND IT DOES INT EVEN FIT THE TABLE SAW WHAT A RIP FORK AMAZON
i "modified" it to work with my dust ports.:
i got 2 of these, 1 for my ryobi bt3100 saw, one for a ridgid spindle/belt sander.. as others said, the 2" end is exact diameter oftoolport, since i had 2" pvc piping on hand, i cut a 4"length, then sawed out a 1/4" kerf/slotlengthwise..that lets it flex enough to fit inside the toolport and this adapter, nice and TIGHT. can also use tape for a perfect Tight fit... i may also try fitting the pvc on the OUTside next, since this shrinks the I.D and decreases airflow, marginally i guess...but it fits... more info
