Designed to fit securely on a standard 30-gallon metal can, the Jet 2-Stage Dust Collection Hood converts single-stage collectors into two-stage dust systems. This separator removes heavy wood chips and other debris before it reaches the dust collector, saving loads of time emptying bags and trips to the dumpster. The molded ABS fitting is engineered to use cyclonic action to drop out larger particles from the dust flow, and the fitting features molded inlet and outlet openings that can be easily connected to standard systems using 4-inch flexible collection hose. The can and hose are sold separately.

It Works Good But Lacking Features:

The Chip Separator does what it's advertised to do - the design is efficient at separating chips before they enter the Dust Collector thereby also prolonging the life of the fan impeller. Also, for me, it catches most of the saw dust as well. The item is rigid and made of ABS plastic. I've had it for about 9 months and am very satisfied with its performance.

Dust Collection Separator:

Excellent product. When ripping Trex decking for a fence product my dust collector would plug up at the housing before the fan blades. After installing this separator.everything works like a champ. Emptying the garbage can is much simpler, and less expensive than using the disposable bags. Highly recommended.

woodchip container cover:

ad said to use with 20 gallon trash can. No way possible. I was fortunate to obtain (free of charge)at a roofing work site, a 50 gallon barrel with a removable top that was held on by a circular adjustable collar. I used the dust collector for a pattern to cut a circular opening in the barrel cover (two inches less than the o.d. of the dust cover) I had a roll of 1/2 inch wide, double sided sticky tape for a seal, securing it to the barrel top with pop rivets around the perimeter. Good but there are better:

I picked this up to go with my Father's Day gift, a Delta 50-760. I have a small shop and I will only be running one machine at a time. I connected it easily and it worked well.
I compared this to another from Woodcraft but WC did not have one in stock so I decided on this to save a few dollars and a few days. I should have held out.
Compare:
- This one does not have a foam gasket seal, WC does. There is a loss of suction where the plastic lid meets the metal can.
