Great background on Pilates Theory:
I purchased this book because I wanted to learn more about the original pilates theory. The book was everything I hoped it would be. The exorcises show the original version and do not show the modified versions that are used in many of today's pilates classes but I was looking to better understand the original theory. Great book -highly recommend for this purpose!

Yes, he was a pioneer in the world of health and fitness and I have enjoyed many personal gains because of my pilates practice--but this is truly a historical work to be taken as just that. I knew that this would be a "back to the birth" of pilates type of read, but I wasn't prepared for all the preaching involved in this book--clearly, he and I would not hang out. Ce livre est très utile pour comprendre les mouvements pilates;
sur la page de gauche les photos de chaque étape de l'exercice;
sur la page de droite, les explications et recommandations pas à pas, par le créateur de la méthode lui-même. Le reste du livre est, à mon goût, une suite de redites sans intérêt. Je mets quand même 5 étoiles, pour l'intérêt global du livre.
