In Vegan with a Vengeance, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, host of the community access vegan cooking show The Post Punk Kitchen, brings the do-it-yourself, community-driven ethos of punk rock into the kitchen. Her cooking philosophy embraces being kind to animals (all recipes are completely animal-product free) and your wallet--while being creative and having fun in the process. She emphasizes staying clear of corporate brand-name foods, and says that cooking should be an innovative, experimental, and completely real experience. This one-of-a-kind cookbook offers 125 recipes for all meals of the day, from stuffed mushrooms to tofu pizza, gingerbread cupcakes to pasta with "alfreda sauce," and is full of tips and tricks on how to keep your diet vegan, inexpensive, and liberated.

Fun book!:
I bought all three of Isa's cookbooks as a package, and along with the recipes, you get plenty of stories, information and advice. It's a big help to someone like me that is new to vegan cooking and baking. I would definitely recommend getting Veganomicon along with it though, that cookbook is awesome!
I love this cookbook.:
Well worth it, even if you aren't a vegan (like me) but want to steer your family (and you) in a meatless direction....the directions are easy to follow, the ingredients are ez to find, and inexpensive. Love the little stories and comments that go along with all the recipes. Also bought the cupcake book....also, wonderful! Thanks.

It sucked big time - too crispy - so much that they fell apart. The... more info
My favorite cookbook:
NOT just my favorite vegan cookbook, but my favorite cookbook EVER. I got this book a few weeks ago and I'm hooked. I had been in a cooking slump for a while, and this book has inspired me. Pretty much everything I've made has been phenomenal (ok, I'll admit the tempeh bacon didn't quite turn out, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that I did something horribly wrong!) The book is well-written, entertaining and funny. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
