Great for CXR:
Excellent didactic and short methodology for reading a chest x-ray. Quick enough read for anyone- med student, medical/surg intern, starting radiology resident. Highly recommend.
Excellent for beginners:
This is an excellent book that hammers in the basics of reading chest films. It was recommended to me by several colleagues. I have no regrets after making this purchase.
Great material on reading CXRs--bad material construction of book:
If you are beginning to learn to read chest x-rays, this is the book to read. But is this a book you should buy? . This book will give you a step-by-step approach to reading chest x-rays. By the time you finish reading it, you'll be able to differentiate consolidation from atelectasis and be able to locate the lesions in the correct lung lobes. You'll know the difference between an air bronchogram and a silhouette sign, confidently read a pneumothorax, and know when to use a CT, MRI, or CXR. For beginners,... more info
