Ann Peden's book:
I have used Ms. Peden's textbook in several of my classes. I use it because it prepares my students for medical record work in all healthcare settings. They need to know how records are managed and what the laws, regulations and standards are in healthcare settings other than hospitals. I highly recommend it for any HIT or HIA instructor. It is easy to read and well organized.
Good book for Health IT students:
This is a good book to read if your trying to figure out what area you would like to work in with a RHIT or RHIA degree. Easy to read also.
Vague:
When reading the book, I find it vague. Of course, it's just a college text but I need to learn from it as well. Also, I have to answer questions from the back of the chapters and I can't find the answers in the chapters AT ALL!! The people in my class get frustrated as well as myself because we have to find other resources to look for the answer when it should be referenced in our book.
