What to Eat with IBD: A Comprehensive Nutrition and Recipe Guide for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
Everything you need to know about nutrition and inflammatory bowel disease including healing foods, recipes, supplements and more.
At the age of nineteen, author Tracie Dalessandro was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and eventually Crohn's disease. After years of trying to heal, Dalessandro realized the power of using diet in conjunction with traditional medicine to control her inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), rather than allowing it to control her. Nutrition became the link between feeling sick and feeling well.
What to Eat with IBD: A Comprehensive Nutrition and Recipe Guide for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis is an invaluable resource containing the latest nutrition and diet information for those suffering from IBD. Dalessandro, a registered dietitian, shares her personal experience and expertise in this comprehensive guide, including tips on the following:
* Foods that heal and foods that hurt * More than fifty nutrient rich, gut-friendly recipes * Menu planning, including healthy meals and snacks * What to eat when traveling and dining out * Critical vitamin and mineral deficiencies and how to correct them
Practical and easy to follow, What to Eat with IBD, will help you feel better, reduce your symptoms, and gain control over your illness.

Helpful Resource:
I thought this book was a helpful resource in light of my diagnosis of Crohns. This is the first book I have read on the subject, and I get the feling my case is much less serious than the case of the author, but the recipes overall sound good and I appreciated the sections on vitamins.
Very Helpful.:
This is a very helpful book for persons with IBD/IBS. It is easy to read and understand and so far the recipies that I have tried are very good too. I would recommend this book as a good place to start in learning how to deal with IBS. It makes a lot of sense and has been helpful for me.

Excellent Resource for IBD patients:
I purchased this book for my 83-year-old mother, recently diagnosed with Crohn's. While the recipes are practical and easy to use, the clear discussion of the symptoms and implications of the diesease, and the tips on how to talk to your doctor about your symptoms and how to improve nutrient absorption, etc. are very helpful. It includes a discussion about the various types of treatments with drugs, diet, and surgery with all of the pros and cons of each. Highly recommended for families of patient as well... more info
