This is the ONLY thing I studied for the test (cover to cover for two months) and I passed the first time through. This book is, in my opinion, the gold standard of the ultrasound physics exam preparation. Easy to understand and good questions! Sure, it's dull... but I don't think even naked men with chocolate chip cookies could make reading about ultrasound physics exciting.
Disappointed!:
I thought there would be more information in this book. It left me hanging on important pieces of information for the Ultrasound Exam. Consequently, I would not recommend it, and the information is out of date.
short, sweet, and concise:
i've attended an edelman seminar. he's a fine teacher and has mastered the art of concision and snappy presentations. this old (1996) purple book goes into no more detail than needed to pass the RDMS exam. at the seminar, edelman said "you need to master these concepts; the seminar isn't magic. don't memorize them, KNOW them." the book functions the same way, especially if you work with the questions on each section, which are excellent. he has just published the new very expanded version for $79 at... more info
Ultrasound Physics Made Easy:
for those who wish to take the exam, and can not make an edelman seminar, i highly recommend this book. this book provides the necessary information to ace the exam.
