Great book for students interested in Ophthalmology:
This is a very simple and easy to read book that gives you enough information to talk intelligently on your ophthalmology rotation. It is not enough to pass the OKAPS nor to get by in your residency. It's a good book for students. Wish me luck in the match!

Ophthalmology Made Ridiculously Simple (Medmaster Ridiculously Simple) I am an retired ophthalmologist who spends part of the year supervising medical students in Australia. I deliver a number of lectures under the title of Undergraduate Ophthalmology. Drs Goldberg and Trattler's little book is an admirable resource for both me and the students I teach. For undergraduates, eye diseases are regarded as tiger country and this little book most certainly provides a splendid guide through the ocular jungle.... more info

tough reading for the beginner, good points for the advanced individual
Essential Reading before your Clerkship:
I was given this textbook by the attending before the rotation and told to read it before showing up the first day. I'm glad I did, because it was the perfect introduction to clinical ophthalmology. It can be read in an evening. Not suitable as a reference, but fulfills it's objectives admirably.
