good read:
Good read if you are a fan. all the marvel essential titles are great for fans from the early years who couldn't obtain every issue.
Heroes for Hire:
Though it may be different nowadays, there was a time that superhero teams were generally tied together by family (the Fantastic Four), education (the X-Men) or common save-the-world purpose (the Avengers, Defenders or Justice League). Rare was the team that was united by mere friendship or financial reasons. Maybe there were minor predecessors, but I think Power Man and Iron Fist may be the first such team. Power Man and Iron Fist was a great comic back in its heyday. Don't believe me? Well look no further than the latest Marvel Essentials - featuring the first 24 issues of the series (#50 - 72, 74, 75). What happened to issue #73 you ask? That particular issue featured ROM, Spaceknight - a character Marvel does not own. The highlight of this Essentials volume for me are the Jo Duffy / Kerry Gammill issues.
