Not all that great.:

For me, the book worked because our instructors used many of the vignettes and questions on our exam.
However, for the general student of medicine, this book is ridiculous. For example, after presenting a short patient vignette, it asks for a differential. Working with friends, I tried to come up with three reasonable diagnoses given the symptoms. The book would give three, but two of the three would be completely UNreasonable. It would say something like, "Diagnosis #1 relies on findings of A, B, C,... more info

Bates case studies:

Teaching graduate nursing students is always a challenge. Case studies are a good way to challenge them. This set of case studies works well when using the Bates textbook.
