Thoroughly revised and updated, this pocket-sized manual is an adaptation of Topol's Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine, Third Edition. The third edition of this best-selling manual follows the same structure as previous editions, using an outline format with key words and phrases highlighted in bold. The concise text provides easy access to the information needed to treat patients with cardiovascular disease and is appropriate for residents, fellows, practicing cardiologists, and nurse-practitioners. The content reflects Topol's text and Brian Griffin adds suggested reading at the end of each chapter. This latest revision presents updated clinical information and has eight new chapters, including obesity and metabolic syndrome, women and heart disease, and heart failure treatment.

"pocket" refrence:
This is a great reference for first year cardiology fellows. Gives the basics of all you need to know, then you can read more in-depth in your "free time."
Brilliant text suitable for all levels:
This comprehensive text of cardiovascular medicine is useful for both student and doctor alike. It presents clear, succint information about all major elements of cardiovascular medicine - well presented in easy to find sections. It divides the topic along the lines of acute vs chronic and also discusses complaints based on their anatomical location (e.g. diseases of aorta and pericardium). There is also a comprehensive section on procedures and tests. All in all a very useful addition to anyone's library.
