This book is designed for surgical residents. Medical students should do well with a student oriented text and the little Surgical Recall.
Residents on the other hand will find this to be a useful review especially before the ABSITE.

This is one of the best investment in medical books that I have made. I am in 3rd year now and have accumulated heaps of COMPREHENSIVE books that I have only ever just flipped through. Since buying "Advanced Surgical Recall", I have used it every single time a topic pops up in my surgical term. It includes topics on General Surgery as well as Surgical Specialties, plus other useful background information. There is also some anatomy, with occasional drawings to emphasize.
