Very useful:
I just finished massage school and use this book pretty regularly since I don't have all the patholigies memorized. But regardless of that, I think it's a great reference for any therapist, it provides enough details about conditions for you to understand what it is, and what type of bodywork would be appropriate for that condition.
A Great Volume!:
This book was part of my massage school curriculum and is FULL of useful information. I keep this in my office at work so that I can reference it when clients present pathologies. It gives a lot of information on each pathology - how to spot it, how massage can help or if it's contraindicated. It's a HUGE book, so chances are you'll never come up empty handed.
Plus, it was written by a former Brian Utting Massage School grad, which is where I went! :)
A good start...:
As a massage therapy student and the partner of a physician, I have unique opportunity to run a lot of topics discussed in this book past a knowledgeable source. While certainly not an authoritative medical text, it is a concise, easy to understand and well organized book that belongs on the shelf of every massage therapist. The one item that is sorely lacking is any bibliography. Even some basic references for those seeking clarification or more information would be a great addition. My other suggestion... more info
