Not for Nurse Kracthit:
This is a kindler gentler book on nursing. Provides good sense, good treatment methodology for the WHOLE patient. In a word CONSIDERATION, good old fashioned care and concern for all aspects of patient care are the primary focus, but don't be fooled as the didactic content and treatment modalities are definetly current.
A Great Theoretical Aspect on Critical Care:
Since this is the only critical care text book I've used, I have no real basis of comparison. I'll try to be as objective as possible. I'm using this book for my critical care class in nursing school. I've covered several sections of this book and can say that this book explains the material rather well for the student nurse.. and possibly the new nurse on the critical care unit. Critical Care NURSING: A Holistic Approach - for NURSES only.:
I am required to use this book as part of a Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Paramedic class (CCEMTP). This book contains a great deal of very easy to interpret information, but it is not sufficient for EMS personnel. While I've enjoyed reading this book in general and I would continue to read this book to better my personal knowledge level, I would not use it for future educational purposes unless I was a nurse seeking to increase my training level.
