Marlowe Higgins has had a hard life. Since being dishonorably discharged after a tour in Vietnam, he's been in and out of prison, moving from town to town, going wherever the wind takes him. He can't stay in one place too long--every full moon he kills someone.
Marlowe Higgins is a werewolf. For years he struggled with his affliction, until he found a way to use this unfortunate curse for good--he only kills really bad people.
Settling at last in the small town of Evelyn, Higgins works at a local restaurant and even has a friend, Daniel Pearce, one of Evelyn's two police detectives.
One night everything changes. It turns out Marlowe Higgins isn't the only monster lurking in the area. A fiendish serial killer, known as the Rose Killer, is brutally murdering young girls all around the county. Higgins targets the killer as his next victim, but on the night of the full moon, things go drastically wrong. . . .

A fun, although unpolished, read:
What worked:
======================================
* The main character was interesting (what's not to love about a werewolf, especially one with such a gruff attitude?) * The author's take on being a werewolf was well done * How Higgins remembers his victims was fresh and unique * It was a fun, fast read What didn't:
======================================
* The "mystery" part wasn't all that mysterious; like at least one other reviewer, I thought the author... more info
A first book that shows great promise:
It's unfortunate that so much of the marketing behind this novel has revolved around the fact that the author died an untimely though heroic death, because the book could likely market itself, based on its own warrants. The story revolves around Marlowe Higgins, a sort of Big Lebowski's "Dude" character, if instead of being a drug-addled slacker, the Dude was an alcoholic werewolf prone to violent outbursts. Plenty of plot twist and excitement:
Great at transaction and quick delivery! The book is in mint condition. The wolfman by Nickolas Pekaro is filled with Plenty of plot twist and excitement and his writing is very visual .The author makes it easy for you to imagine the events happening right in front of you. It is a tragedy he was murdered. I can only hope the wolfman in his book comes to life for real and puts an end to the mindless death and violence suffered by the innocent ones of our society.
Outstanding!:
I just finished this book and was so sad to see it end. Knowing of Pekearo's untimely and tragic death, I know I will be getting no more Marlowe Higgins stories. He is a brilliantly developed character - while a monster on the inside, you cannot help but feel for him and his desire to do good with the evil that is wrapped within him.
