The book reads very well for a genetics textbook. The pictures helped explain some concepts and the questions at the end of the chapters were a nice summary.

I have been teaching medical genetics to medical students and graduate students for more than twenty years, and I have been using the Jorde text for teaching medical students since it was first published. This text is the most succinct text available to my knowledge on the topic of medical genetics. Good review of medical genetics:
I did not select this book, it was required for a class I was taking, but it is a well written book. This book offers a good review of medical genetics at a moderate level. It features "case study" areas about some individual genetic diseases (i.e. hemophilia) and is user friendly.
