The text is confusing and the diagrams tend to not be very useful. I would go with a different textbook if I could.

Small book, comes with vocabulary listings at the beginning of the chapter and an extensive vocabulary section on the back. Great for looking for terms in a hurry.
covers main ideas well:
The authors cover the main ideas of audiology, for the student practitioner. The biophysics of hearing in the inner ear is explained. Then, there is a necessarily brief discussion of the various auditory disorders you might encounter in a patient. Which elides into how to objectively characterise normal and atypical hearing.
