A quick reference to the management of pain for specialists as well as general medical practitioners and residents. Written in a concise bulleted format, the content is limited to only the essential facts necessary for assessment and treatment of common pain conditions and presentations. A perfect review tool for both the anesthesia and pain medicine board exams.

Underwhelmed!:
This book was more than disappointing. Very simplistic with very little in depth information. I thought this would be a good start for a resident interested in pursuing a pain fellowship but found the material to be overly simplified and superficial. This is not saying that I am in any way highly intelligent or intellectual. Basically, if you want to practice pain medicine and sit for the boards, I doubt this book will do much for you. If you're a primary care physician who wants to tinker in pain... more info
The best option at this time:
I think this is a very good pain review book. The chapters are written by respective experts in that field (ie. Racz did the chapter on epidurolysis of adhesions, etc). It is actually good as a reference book as well, as the authors have condensed much of the literature into this slim book. I find it a much better option to Raj's review book, as it is much more up to date, edited better, more concise. There really are not any other options out there for pain review, and so far this is the best.
Fact-checking?:
Numerous mistakes that should have been found in the most basic copy review. Page 95 for example - "Biopatch dressing impregnated with Hibiclens" - one branded product impregnated with another branded product?! Biopatch is a delivery system for chlorhexidine gluconate, not Hibiclens, which also uses CHG. Takes away from the credibility of the book.
Facts indeed, but not practical for quick exam review:
Mundane array of facts after facts, displayed in non-dynamic fashion, I found it very difficult to focus on highlights of pain management topics that are necessary for board exam prepation.
